Dr. Callahan's Biography
Dr. John M. Callahan is a 1996 graduate of SUNY (Upstate) Health Science Center School of Medicine, in Syracuse, NY.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency with Columbia University's program at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. He is an active member of the Onondaga County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He possesses clinical privileges at Saint Joseph's and Community General Hospitals in Syracuse, NY. He has been an Attending Physician with maintenance of New York State Licensure and Board Certification since 1999.
Dr. Callahan is also a 1986 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, NY. He served in the US Army, was commissioned in the Field Artillery branch, and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK, The Presidio of Monterrey, CA, and in Germany. He is a fluent German speaker and has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada.
Dr. Callahan is a lifetime resident of Central and Northern New York, and attended Assumption Catholic Academy and Christian Brothers Academy, both in Syracuse. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He and his wife Tracy have 5 children.
