A HIGHER LEVEL OF CARE

Dr. Callahan was featured on a News Channel 9 Family Healthcast Segment on April 5th about his new "Micropractice," Adult Primary Care of Fayetteville. To watch, click here or on the Channel 9 logo above. Then click on the "Family Healthcast" link!

Dr. Callahan previously provided his thoughts to News Channel 9 on March 21st (WSYR-TV) in Syracuse. He provided his opinion on the what is sometimes a slippery slope: the relationship between doctors and drug companies. You can see the video for yourself by clicking here.

COLD AND FLU PREVENTION TIPS:

  • The best preventative against colds and flu is to wash your hands frequently using soap and warm water

  • Hand sanitizers are a good substitute if you can't get to a sink frequently

  • Try sneezing or coughing into the crook of your elbow if possible: this helps to control the spread of germs and prevents them from getting on your hands

  • If you suspect you have the flu, it may be H1N1 as the seasonal flu (traditional flu) is not active in Central New York yet

If you don't have a living will, you should get one!  It won't cost you anything, and it's as easy as visiting the  New York State Bar Association's Living Will form and the New York State Attorney General's Health Care Proxy form by clicking on the links.  We can't stress how important these documents are.  They will help your loved ones make difficult decisions about your health care should you be unable to do so, and you can rest easy knowing your wishes will be carried out.
